John Reese’s Back & Releases How To Build A Successful IMA Business Course!

My favorite Internet marketer, John Reese has just released a new free Internet marketing video which is a trailer to his new course: "How To Build A Successful IMA Business".

In the 60 minute teaser video, John discusses his new philosophy on Internet marketing. It’s actually a very refreshing view of the online marketing landscape. In a nutshell, John is implying that many of us have been lead astray by "Gurus" who claim that there is no money in marketing to other Internet marketers. I wonder why the gurus have been saying that for so many years? Could it be that they want all the glory and money for themselves? Duh! But true to form John takes responsibility for his part in pumping these lies as well. He goes through 10 myths about Internet marketing and systematically dispels each one.

It won’t surprise me if John loses some guru buddies. He has to be breaking some "Internet marketing guru secret society code" by offering to teach regular people how to be an online marketing guru. Honestly that’s like suicide. Why would a successful marketer like John teach the masses all the things that he knows which could make his students his competitors? Is this a scam? Has John lost his million dollar mind?

Well no he hasn’t. John basically has always had a philosophy of helping people. So one aspect of this is that he really does want to help a lot of people and he knows that Income.com won’t necessarily be able to achieve that. So offering this class may reach some of the people that he can’t with Income.com.

The other reason which is just smart business, is that he hopes that his students will be come very successful. This way he can partner with them in the future in terms of joint ventures or as affiliates for income.com. Obviously this means more cha ching for John!. Gotta love how this guy thinks!

At the end of the day John is offering a wonderful opportunity to learn all aspects of selling to Internet marketers and building a successful and long term Internet marketing business.  He will be providing this information via a 3 day intensive online webinar course starting January  29th - 31st. Like many of these great consulting packages it will be limited to first come first serve. So if you want to get on the list to get a chance to attend the "How To Build A Successful IMA Business" you need to visit: www.Income.com/imalist.html Registration opens Monday, Jan 21st, 2008 at noon est.

I’m already receiving consulting from John because of a stompernet bonus. But I may join this as well. If this is anything like John’s traffic secrets, then it’s going to change a lot of people’s lives for the better. Well maybe not for the greedy gurus!

Nice post, Eddy. You know what the video reminds me of? The saying that “The best people to sell to are the sales people.”

  2. Eddy Salomon Says:

    Thanks Owen!
I’ve never heard that expression before but it does make total sense!

While I enjoy short videos interspersed within a page, giving up an hour of my life to watch a power point presentation wasdownright painful.

As far as dispelling myths, John did NOT dispel myths. He gave his opinion. I would look forward to hearing John debate these myths with other marketers before assuming he has dispelled anything.

Guru bashing has been a popular marketing ploy for over a
year now. And since John is viewed as an A list guru, it is
imperative for him to separate himself from those masses.

Yes, you can sell to Internet marketers. But, did you listen to the video closely? One of the reasons you can do that is because new marketers (like in China) will be coming on board. I personally don’t want to take a Berlitz class.

I do agree that the gurus have kept the truth about marketing to marketers to themselves. But John’s reasoning and suggestion on what we should do, is skewed in my opinion.

Lastly, I found the breadcrumbs about John possibly working
with his IMA’s interesting. This has long been a sales
gimmick of the guru’s from which John wishes to distance
himself. If I had a dollar for everytime someone said the
way to get them to promote your product or work with them was (1) attend their events (2) be one of THEIR top affiliates (3) buy all their products, etc. - well, I could
    retire from IM altogether.

Now, I imagine this post wil never see the light of day because people are so darn worried that they might offend the king.

Believe me, John is tough enough to take it. And true brilliance shows when you have to answer to other than “yes” men who worship you.

  4. Eddy Salomon Says:

    Hey Mike,

Thanks for your comments. You have some strong feelings there buddy. But we welcome all points of views. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion. So with that said, know that you’re not dealing with a yes man and I worship no one but God.

But I do have a very strong appreciation for John Reese because watching his past videos and applying his techniques is what has helped me be free of a 9-5 and can work full time on my sites.

So with that said, I give John more of the benefit of the doubt then I do with other “gurus.” John is a straight shooter in my book. Is he perfect? I honestly don’t know anyone that is. But in my humble opinion he really does want to help people. And yes I know guru bashing has been happening for a while now. And yes it may be a marketing ploy. But even if it is, based on my personal experience with John’s past products I’m able to look past these little techniques.

At the end of the day that’s the market we’re in. I read sales letters all the time and I know exactly what they’re trying to do and the feelings they’re trying to invoke. So what? My main concern when evaluating these products and services is whether or not I feel it will be of value to me.

Yes, John is a business man and no I don’t knock him for his stance and trying to make money off potential JV partners and affiliates. It’s the nature of the business. I don’t really think there is anything wrong with it.

In any event, I appreciate your point of view. Sounds like you’ve had a lot experiences with these gurus and Internet marketing in general. I don’t gather they’ve been pretty good. =) But I’ve been there and done that too. But don’t let it jade you. Sure it takes some effort to hunt down value from all the bull shit being pumped out there. But there is some quality stuff too that can help you succeed. But I’ll be the first to admit there is more noise than good.

It’s the reason why I removed myself from so many of these guru’s email list. But John is one of the few I still trust.
And that’s my stance on it. I’m just basing it on my own experience with him and his products.

But Mike, I really appreciate your comments and hard stance. It’s these type of discussions that make the web what it is.
    So keep them coming buddy.

I am one of the fortunate ones who has managed to sign up to John’s IMA course.

The way I see it, John is offering to show us how to set up a shop that sells fishing rods.

When John’s new Internet marketing teaching site, Income .com, starts to operate later this year, he will be teaching people how to fish….

Obviously, as a shop owner I will be able to sell fishing rods to anyone, but someone who has paid to listen to a great fisherman will , intime, ask him where to get the best kit to fish with. With me so far?

When the great fisherman recommends the same shop to everyone his students would get suspiscious(even think there is something fishy going on!).
But, if he recommends numerous fishing rod shops to suit the individual needs of the students, he will not look like someone taking a back hander form a single shop, he will look like a genuine teacher who is tayloring the needs of his students to a suitable shop.

Ah ha! I hear you say…but he is taking a back hander from ALL the shops, so he is extra bad and sneaky…well no! As A shop owner I will look for the best wholesaler whoever it is…john knows this this, as it is a free market out there…(one in which he has made a good living from), I wont JV with john unless he provides the best deal…

    Ow.

  6. Eddy Salomon Says:

    Well Said Owen!
I was planning on taking the course myself but I figured whatever he’s teaching in the course he can give me some insight on in my consulting with him. (Hopefully. =)

I’d love to hear how what you learn has helped you succeed when you put into practice. So keep up as all abreast of your progress.

To all of you who missed the John Reese IMA course. Wow you were in the right place at the right time. Those of us who got in have been slammed with the sucker train all the way! The respect I have had for the man after reading his work faithfully for 3 years it out the window.

There was a post by his site “9.5 hour of meat” How about 9.5 hours of listening to an out of date old man talking about his past life charging me $833.00 dollars a day to be forced to listen and hope I get a morsell of workable information.

I will give all of you a summery of what has been said. John Reese history and how he started. John Reese and how much money he made for each event. John Reese and how he divided that money up. John Reese babling about himself. Then some simple info on email, domains, very novice stuff. Basically nothing that will really help to build or work a site. I COULD CARE LESS HOW JOHN REESE STARTED WHO WORSHIPS HIM AND WHEN OR HOW MUCH MONEY HE MADE OR HOW HE DISPERSED IT. I PAID TO BE TAUGHT HOW TO MAKE MONEY VIA THE INTERNET AND I DON’T NEED A LESSON ON BEING A HELPFUL NICE PERSON. THAT PART OF ME IS SET AND WAS IN KINDERGARTEN!!!

GOT IT THIS COURSE IS A RIP OFF AND A WAIST OF MY TIME AND LIFE! Now I hope my bold writting gets some of these “stick my head in the sand all is just great people” to wake up and be honest. The only person who could have had benefit worthy of the cost so far is a novice that knows not even how to conduct them selves in public let alone know anything about Internet.

Buy from John Reese with causion and never fall for his hype he can’t deliver. He has been out of touch and to quote him “lazy” for far to long.

  8. Eddy Salomon Says:

    Damn Jean!
You don’t sound very happy with John right now.
I’m really finding this hard to believe. Everything I’ve gotten from John has always proved to be helpful.

It would be interesting to hear some other folks opinions about the course too. It’s sad nonetheless that you don’t feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.

I’m having a similar experience with Joel Comm. I usually like what he puts out. But “The Secret Classroom” has been a huge disappointment. I think maybe one or two of the DVDs were actually helpful. And even with that it wasn’t worth the money. I hope this isn’t a trend.

Mass Control seems to be living up to the hype so far. But I’ll chime in as I have more time with the program.

    Eddy

  9. Jen Says:

    Jean,

Thanks for your review. I couldn’t afford John’s program, but I *did* read that it came with a money back guarantee. Something like attend the first day free, and if you didn’t like it, ask for your money back after that first day.

What caused you to stick with the program instead of asking for a refund?

    Just curious,
    Jen
